who is working relentlessly to boost the vital income they need to help those working in the builders’ merchant, DIY, housewares and garden sectors who are struggling for any reason - and let’s face it, it’s not always sunshine and roses at the moment for many people.
If you are, or know someone who is struggling to make ends meet, cope with life and needs financial, legal or other advice or a training boost, get in touch – “We are here to help you if you have worked in our industries for a year or more.” – said Rainy Day Trust.
Sarah will be at the Rainy Day Trust stand (Hall 9, 57A) at Spring Fair on the 4th and 5th February – she would love to meet you!
Here are some of the ways you can support them:
- If you are a UK taxpayer you may wish to consider using Gift Aid to boost your donation by 25%. You can donate either by clicking on the donate button on the Rainy Day Trust website (https://www.rainydaytrust.org.uk/get-help/), or by sending a cheque to their Head Office in Birmingham.
- By sponsoring one of their personal challenges; visit Just Giving or Virgin Money Giving and search for the Rainy Day Trust.
- You can also set up a regular donation by Standing Order (contact their office for more information about this) or by asking your HR manager to set up Payroll Giving.
Challenge yourself and raise sponsorship:
If you are sporty, they have limited places left on the London Vitality 10K run on 27 May, or register at a local event near you.
Here are some of their events:
How about putting a 4-strong team into a Karting challenge (come
on ladies!!!)? or if you dream of rallying across Europe in September, teams
of 4 can join the crazy fun of the Pavestone Rally in a £500 banger,
in fancy dress and driving from London to Lake Como in Italy... in 5 days!
If that’s not your thing they are also looking for volunteers.
How about showing the world you care about your (fellow) employees and volunteer some time helping them to spread the word about what Rainy Day Trust does? (or encourage your employees to). As part of your corporate social responsibility policy just one day per employee volunteered will help to make a difference to those in need. Activities might involve putting up posters, doing research in the local area, or simply talking to colleagues about Rainy Day Trust.
If you need help right now you can contact Rainy Day Trust directly on 0203 192 0486, or at www.rainydaytrust.org.uk.
